Batch Starts: December 01, 2026 • Registration Closes: November 20, 2026
Bridging the critical gap between courtroom legal practice and scientific crime investigation.
The Forensic Lawyer is an interdisciplinary initiative designed to bridge the gap between legal practice and forensic science through the Joint Certificate Course in Forensic Science & Law, co-offered by Kerala Law Academy (KLA) and the Centre for Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science (CCIFS).
The programme aims to equip legal professionals and law students with scientific literacy to understand crime scene investigation, forensic laboratory procedures, evidence evaluation, and expert testimony, while familiarising forensic science enthusiasts and professionals with the legal principles governing criminal investigation and judicial proceedings.
Integrating contemporary legal frameworks, including the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023, the initiative emphasises evidence admissibility, chain-of-custody compliance, forensic report interpretation, and cross-examination of expert witnesses.
Complemented by an academic conference, the programme provides a multidisciplinary platform for legal practitioners, forensic experts, researchers, academicians, and students to exchange knowledge and promote collaboration between science and law.
Empowering the legal community with scientific rigour and courtroom excellence.
To strengthen the criminal justice system by advancing the responsible use of scientific evidence, improving investigative and courtroom practices, and promoting a more transparent, reliable, and evidence-driven pursuit of justice under contemporary legal codes.
To deliver structured, industry-aligned education merging legal theory with hands-on laboratory investigation. We immerse participants in simulated crime scenes, forensic workstations, and mock cross-examinations to develop the practical skills needed in high-stakes criminal litigation.
Presented jointly by two premier legal and forensic training institutions
Kerala’s first private law college and an institutional powerhouse featuring a Moot Court Society, Legal Aid Clinic, and Centres of Excellence. It hosts CALSAR, publishing the UGC-CARE listed Academy Law Review. KLA is the only institution in India regularly hosting 5 national and 1 international competition annually across mooting, trial advocacy, ADR, client counselling, and mediation.
Founded by Adv. (Dr.) Tabish Sarosh, the Centre for Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science (CCIFS)—a specialized wing of Tabish Sarosh & Associates—bridges academic theory and frontline criminal litigation.
